I am Melina, a BACP accredited counsellor. With thirty years' clinical experience I can help you with many emotional problems, from anxiety, depression, loss and grief to more niche, childhood, relationship, trauma and PTSD.
Trauma Specialist
I am a trauma specialist counsellor and I specialise in sexual abuse, sexual violence and other traumatic experiences. My practice is trauma informed, as it is important that you feel safe with me and safe within the therapeutic space. As each person processes trauma differently, clients often seek this specialist support to process their thoughts and let go of tension and trauma safely.
Addictions
I have expertise in addictions; drugs, alcohol and online addictions.
Couple Counselling
I have expertise in emotional focused therapy for couples/intimate partners seeking relationship therapy to resolve emotional issues and strengthen bonds.
International Therapist
I am English Italian, living in the UK and I work mainly remotely online, supporting clients here and around the globe. Experienced in working with expats and remote workers. I am culturally sensitive and naturally drawn to those who have been marginalised or targeted in some way.

By definition I would describe therapy as the process of healing, to make or become sound again. I understand that therapy can seem daunting, however, starting the process is to open-up and heal.
Past
In our therapy sessions we may explore the past, the aim is not to self-blame, rather to explore with compassion, so we can understand, change our narrative and our sense of ourselves and our story. And within this safe space where we can be vulnerable, curious, explorative and celebrative. Melina therapy is providing all of these and anything in-between.
Present
And engage with mindful practises to discover presence, reduce stress and anxiety, aid sleep and relaxation.

Whilst setting goals that align with your values and future aspirations.

My focus is to provide the most effective therapy for you and my purpose is to be adaptive to each individual, not prescriptive to follow methodology because it has worked with others - to recognise the uniqueness of you.

My approach is integrative - integrating mental and physical healing. Drawn from evidence-based therapies, grounded in neuroscience, with coaching and holistic interventions to create effective individualised psychological care. With helpful tools that you can take-away and sustain independently and after therapy.
Modalities are;
Trauma Recovery Yoga
In 2024 I trained with a visionary Afghanistan based charity (the first UK participant), delivering trauma recovery yoga to women, children and refugees in conflict war zones. This deepened my understanding of how mind-body practices such as gentle movement, breathwork and meditation can calm the mind and safely release stored tension and trauma. Beautifully complimenting the work I have been doing for decades.
