I am Melina, a licensed BACP accredited counsellor, with thirty years' clinical experience. I can help you with your emotional problems, from anxiety, depression, loss, grief and confidence, to more niche, childhood, relationship, trauma and PTSD.
Trauma Specialist
I am a specialist trauma counsellor and I specialise in the impact of sexual abuse and sexual violence and other past and present traumatic events. My practice is trauma informed, as it is important that you feel safe with me and safe within the therapeutic space. As each person processes trauma differently, clients often seek this specialist support to combat fear, so they can feel safe in their mind and bodies again. I have a particular set of skills to aid and support this journey.
Expertise
I have expertise in addictions; drugs, alcohol and online addictions.
I have expertise in emotional focused therapy for couples/intimate partners seeking relationship therapy to resolve emotional issues and strengthen bonds.
About Me
I am English Italian, living in the UK and I work remotely online, supporting clients here and around the globe. I am culturally sensitive and naturally drawn to those who have been marginalised or targeted in some way.

At any time in our lives, we can face personal challenges or have unresolved painful issues from our past - experiencing anger, sadness, guilt, fear, blame or shame.
Often clients come to me who are going through a difficult life transition or struggling with their past. Talking to someone who is professionally trained and impartial can really help.
By definition I would describe therapy as the process of healing, to make or become sound again. I understand that therapy can seem daunting, however, starting the process is to open-up and heal.
Your Past
In our therapy sessions we may look at the past, the aim is not to self-blame, rather to explore with compassion, so we can understand, change our narrative and our sense of ourselves and our story. And within this safe space where we can be vulnerable, curious, explorative and celebrative. Melina therapy is providing all of these and anything in-between.
Presence and Future
Or with a mindful approach focusing on presence and reoccurring symptoms to de-stress, combat anxiety, aid sleep and relaxation. Whilst setting goals that align with your values and future aspirations.
The focus
My focus is to provide the most effective therapy for you and my purpose is to be adaptive to each individual, not prescriptive to follow methodology because it has worked with others - to recognise the uniqueness of you and so you can feel 'lighter' and 'better'!

My approach is integrative, drawn from evidence-based therapies, grounded in neuroscience, with coaching and holistic interventions to create effective individualised psychological care. With helpful tools that you can take-away and sustain independently and after therapy.
The methodologies are;
Trauma Recovery Yoga
In 2024 I completed training in Trauma Recovery Yoga with a charitable organisation in Afghanistan who deliver classes in countries at war. I am a certified Self-Regulation for Resilience Instructor, which focuses on mind and body connections - such as breathwork and meditation, to help regulate the nervous system and promote emotional regularity. Beneficial for anyone and safe and beneficial for anyone who has experienced trauma.
I would love to share these methods and my unique blend of traditional western therapies and eastern philosophies with you.
