Melina Therapy Clinical Supervision

A woman with long blonde hair smiling against a plain white background.

Welcome, I offer reflective, supportive and insight-oriented clinical supervision for therapists, coaches and helping professionals - seeking a trauma-informed, thoughtful space to grow and professionally enrich their practice.

My integrative approach draws on 30 years of clinical experience, combining traditional person centred and cognitive therapies, with coaching, mindfulness and trauma-recovery approaches.

I provide a collaborative space where practitioners can deepen their clinical thinking, gain fresh perspectives, strengthen their professional development and reflect on their work with curiosity, insight and a commitment to ethical practice.

My clinical work spans a broad range of presenting issues, from anxiety, depression, grief and relationship difficulties to more complex experiences of childhood trauma, PTSD, attachment wounds and adverse life events.

Alongside my general practice, I have developed specialist knowledge in trauma and addiction, including extensive work within substance misuse and working with survivors of sexual abuse, sexual violence and other forms of interpersonal trauma.

My experience also includes working with children, young people, adults, couples and groups in a variety of therapeutic contexts. This breadth of experience enables me to support practitioners with both common mental health concerns and more complex client presentations.

UK & International Practice

I offer online clinical supervision to practitioners throughout the UK and internationally. Working online provides a consistent and accessible reflective space, fitting around the demands of busy practices and everyday life, regardless of your location.

I am English-Italian and bring a culturally sensitive and relationally attuned perspective to my work. My clinical experience has often drawn me to supporting individuals and communities who have experienced marginalisation, displacement or significant life adversity. I value creating a supervisory space where different perspectives and lived experiences can be explored with openness, curiosity and respect.

In supervision, opportunities are provided to explore the impact of clinical work, including vicarious and secondary trauma, alongside support in working with ethical boundaries, scope of practice and professional competence. This enables the exploration of complex clinical material, deeper clinical thinking, consideration of client safety and risk and support for practitioner wellbeing.

I believe that warmth, openness and authenticity are the foundations of trust in a supervisory relationship and that consistency strengthens both the bond and the depth of the work. Alongside this, I also value supportive challenge where appropriate, helping practitioners to think more critically, deepen reflection and sustain ethical and effective practice.

Trauma Recovery Yoga - In 2023 I trained with an pioneering organisation in Afghanistan, who deliver trauma recovery yoga classes in refugee camps and communities impacted by war.  I am particularly interested in self regulation and the impact of trauma on the nervous system and the ways in which mindfulness, neuroscience and mind-body approaches such as breathwork and meditation can complement traditional therapeutic practice.

"I would recommend Melina for clinical supervision, if you want an approach that is genuine, warm, caring, reflective and informed. I am able to be fully transparent about my emotions and thought processes about my clients. I have felt safe to be able to explain fully how the therapy I have undertaken has impacted on my own well-being. I have learned to be extremely confident in my abilities and my ethical approach".

"I find Melina extremely warm and encouraging of my development. Able to give enough of herself without taking away from her supervisee's. She is naturally able to guide me towards reflection rather than merely advising me to do it".
