Welcome to Melina Therapy and clinical supervision. If you are looking for a clinical supervisor, I am Melina and I am a BACP accredited integrative counsellor and wellness coach. I provide bespoke supervision for therapists and practitioners and anyone who engages empathically with clients. I have thirty years' experience working with many issues, including anxiety, depression, loss and grief - to more sensitive, childhood issues, self-harm, suicide, trauma and PTSD.
Trauma Specialist
I am a trauma specialist counsellor and I specialise in sexual abuse and sexual violence. My practice is trauma informed, as it is important that you feel safe with me and safe within the supervisory relationship.
Expertise
I have expertise in addictions, drug and alcohol, sex, pornography and other online addictions.
I have expertise in couples, relationship and intermate partners therapy.
Also, I provide wellness coaching and Trauma recovery yoga classes.
My Practice
My practice is inclusive and culturally sensitive - I am naturally drawn to those who have been marginalised or targeted in some way. Often clients come to me who have been displaced, missing a sense of belonging or going through a difficult life transition.
International Supervision
I am English-Italian living in the UK and I work mainly remotely, online with clients and therapists here and across the globe. Experienced with working with expats and remote workers and providing supervision to international therapists.
Clinical supervision is for counsellors, psychotherapists and other wellness practitioners, to support their work and help reduce the impact on their own mental health. Often described as secondary or vicarious trauma, anyone who engages empathically with clients and is witness to material relating to their trauma, can potentially be affected. In line with the BACP Ethical Framework - supervision is there to support and enhance good practice and to protect clients from risk and poor practice.
I would describe my supervision as your safe space to decompress, explore cases and be reflective in your practice. Where you can raise any concerns and celebrate the joy of client work. Also, hold space for your self-care and well-being.
I believe that warmth, openness and authenticity are key to building trust and empathy within the supervisory relationship. While the consistency of supervision is essential to affirming the supervisory bond and depth of the work.
I regard supervision as a collaborative space for support, guidance and learning, so that you can continue to grow and feel valued as a practitioner.
My clinical supervision approach is integrative - integrating mental and physical healing by engaging in both mind and body practices. Drawn from a unique blend of evidence- based therapies, grounded in neuroscience, with coaching and trauma recovery interventions. Modalities include:
I am experienced supporting:
Trauma Recovery Yoga
In 2024 I trained with a visionary Afghanistan based charity (the first UK participant), delivering trauma recovery yoga to women, children and refugees in conflict war zones. This deepened my understanding of how mind-body practices such as gentle movement, breathwork and meditation can calm the mind and safely release stored tension and trauma. Beautifully complimenting the therapy work I have been doing for decades.
So, I would love to hear from you and about your practice.

"I would recommend Melina for clinical supervision, if you want an approach that is genuine, warm, caring, reflective and informed. I am able to be fully transparent about my emotions and thought processes about my clients. "I find Melina extremely warm and encouraging of my development. Able to give enough of herself without taking away from her supervisee's. She is naturally able to guide me towards reflection rather than merely advising me to do it."
