Welcome to my Clinical Supervision Service. Offering private and confidential online supervision to practitioners here in the U.K. and all around the world.

Bringing 30 year's clinical practice and drawn from my experiences of working with children, young people, adults, couples and family dynamics. With private clients, charities, the NHS, schools, universities,  E.A.P. and corporate business.

I am experienced in working with a vast variety of  mental health issues that clients present with. From anxiety and depression, loss, grief to more sensitive and complex crisis and trauma. With expertise in addictions, drug and alcohol, sexual abuse, sexual violence, trauma and PTSD.

I have extensive experience working with marginalised and often hard to reach clients, whether they have been stigmatised due to gender, sexuality, race, culture or circumstance.

I am passionate about supporting supervisee's and value diversity and inclusivity into my practice. Providing support and guidance for supervisee's who work in mental health, crisis intervention, short term to longer term therapy, coaching and mentoring roles.

As a regular practitioner of mindfulness, I pay particular attention to my well-being and self-care, which fits into the ethos and values of my practice.

About Supervision

Clinical Supervision is for counsellors, psychotherapists and health professionals whose roles impact upon their mental health and will benefit from the additional support and process of supervision. Similar to the process of therapy, where you will meet with a supervisor who is fully trained and impartial to you and your practice. For some therapists this is a professional requirement by their professional body. However, more and more practitioners are finding the benefits of clinical supervision.

Anyone who engages empathically with survivors of traumatic incidents, torture and is witness to material relating to their trauma, is potentially affected, including doctors and other health professionals. Often described as vicarious trauma, this trauma affects how you think, feel and act. Feeling anxious, sad, irritable, angry, numb or on edge.  Also, vicarious trauma is directly related to a lack of work-life balance resulting in fatigue and burn out.

I would describe clinical supervision as a safe space where you can take time to process your work, decompress and be reflective in your practice. Where you can explore challenges, raise concerns and celebrate the joy of client work.

I regard clinical supervision as a collaborative space for support, guidance and positive growth and an opportunity to check in on your self-care and wellbeing.

Supervisee's Testimonials

- I would recommend Melina if you want an approach that is genuine, warm, caring, reflective and informed. I am able to be fully transparent about my emotions and thought processes about my clients. I have felt safe to be able to explain fully how the therapy I have undertaken has impacted on my own well-being. I have learned to be extremely confident in my abilities and my ethical approach.

- I find Melina extremely warm and encouraging of my development. Able to give enough of herself without taking away from her supervisee's. She is naturally able to guide me towards reflection rather than merely 'making' me do it.

- I have increased my self awareness and assertiveness and improved arrangements for my team through supervision work, setting up policies and procedures and increased my ability to make decisions. Thank you so much.

- I feel that I am becoming a better therapist for my clients working in a specialised area, Gaining a kinder and more compassionate relationship to myself and a better understanding of trauma. A huge impact and thank you Melina, you have been fantastic and I appreciate your supervision and support so much.
