Thank you for joining me here at Melina Yoga. I’m Melina and I am passionate about trauma-recovery yoga because it is beneficial for anyone and safe and beneficial for anyone who has experienced trauma. Rooted in neuroscience and psychology, with mind-body connections such as breathwork and meditation, to help regulate your nervous system and promote emotional regularity. And I would love to share these methods with you.
For over 30 years, I've been a therapist and dedicated to supporting and helping clients heal and feel better about themselves. Specialising in addictions, sexual abuse and violence, trauma and PTSD. In 2023, I hesitantly joined an online trauma recovery yoga class - and it changed me. The practice bought a profound sense of grounding and calm that I hadn't expected. Inspired I continued attending classes. In 2024, I had the opportunity (and the first participant in the UK) to train with a visionary Afghanistan-based charity, who deliver classes in war-torn countries with women, refugees and children. This journey has shown me how beautifully yoga and breathwork can support healing and compliment the talk therapy.
Come join a gentle yoga class with me. I respect the unique journey of every person, recognising that healing is not a destination but a continual unfolding - a process that moves at its own pace, guided by patience, awareness and self-love. This practice is not about progression or perfection, but about meeting yourself where you are, moment by moment, with kindness and curiosity.
" Showing-up and breathing is practicing. It's your yoga, your journey."
